Community Intervention Specialist

This  position is assigned to the Mayor’s Office, Office of Violence Prevention whose primary objective is to interact with and counsel individuals who are at-risk or suspected of participating in criminal behavior in order to discourage criminal behavior, discuss positive alternatives and opportunities.  Related work is performed as required.


Field Coordinator

The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing street outreach, tailored engagement, services referral, and mediation of street-level conflicts that could elevate to gun violence.  The incumbent in this title is supervised by the Coordinator of the Office of Neighborhood Safety and performs related work as required.


Neighborhood Change Agent

This position is assigned to the Mayor’s Office, Office of Neighborhood Safety/Advance Peace whose primary objective is to reduce local gun violence within a culturally competent and trauma-responsive framework.  The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing street outreach and tailored engagement, and services referral on behalf of selected community members.  Additionally, incumbents in this title will be responsible for effectively mediating street-level conflicts that could elevate to gun violence.  Performs related work as required. 


Neighborhood Change Agent/Part-Time

Senior Field Coordinator

This supervisory position is assigned to the Mayor’s Office, Office of Neighborhood Safety/Advance Peace whose primary objective is to reduce local gun violence within a culturally competent and trauma-responsive framework.  The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing day-to-day management and supervision of employees responsible for providing street outreach, tailored engagement, services referral, and mediation of street-level conflicts that could elevate to gun violence.  The incumbent in this title is supervised by the Coordinator of the Office of Neighborhood Safety and performs related work as required.


Youth Intervention Aide

The incumbent in this position acts as a positive role model to youth by demonstrating positive working relationships with peers, supervisors, volunteers and professionals. The Youth Intervention Aide works with staff, in recreation facilities, schools, and community spaces to deal with gang related issues and other conflicts that could lead to violence. The work is performed under the direct or indirect supervision of higher level staff. Employees may be required to work a variety of hours and shifts as demanded. Performs related work as required.
